Folding pruning saw for trees and shrubs
Make quick work of pruning trees and shrubs that are simply too big for secateurs or loppers. With an SK5 steel blade and a chunky rubber handle, this folding saw is suitable for cuts up to 7cm in diameter.
The narrow blade cuts on the pull stroke which allows for precision sawing and a cleaner, faster cut. Just be careful not to twist or snag it, this saw is all about positioning and care, instead of brut force.
Made in Sanjo, Japan.
Size: 44 x 5 x 1.5cm. Blade: 21cm. Teeth per inch: 8.47. Weight: 219g.
By law, we are not permitted to sell knives or blades to anyone under the age of 18. By purchasing this product, you are confirming that you are 18 years of age or older. A signature and proof of age will be required upon delivery. This item must be used responsibly, appropriately and with care.
Care + Use
Care & Safety:
- Use a gentle sawing action to cut on the pull stroke and glide back on the push stroke.
- By cutting on the pull stroke, Japanese saws are under less pressure and require less energy than traditional western blades, resulting in quicker cuts. However, the blades are also more fragile and require proper handling.
- When sawing, don't twist the blade or let the weight of the branch pinch it.
- The maximum cutting diameter for the saw is branches of 7cm. Don't try to use it on anything larger.
- Equally, don't try to use it on branches that are too small. A lot of thin branches can move around which makes accurate sawing tricky. Use secateurs or loppers where appropriate instead.
- Be careful not to snap the blade, which can happen through incorrect use or poor handling.
Safety:
- Before carrying or using this tool in public, please ensure you are familiar with Offensive Weapons Law.
- Under section 1 of the Prevention of Crime Act 1953, it is an offence to have a weapon in a public place unless you have lawful authority or a reasonable excuse. This might include carrying tools for work or transporting gardening equipment.
- We strongly advise that you keep this tool concealed, securely sheathed, and out of sight in public areas – ideally stored in a gardening bag or toolbox rather than worn openly on your belt.
